| "History
- we need to fix that!" - Couldn't
agree more! This will be back up as soon as possible. "Forum - couldn't find subject wanted" - This one confused us a bit! Our forum has over 8000 articles, with a 'search' feature. If the subject that you wish to discuss is not there, you can always add a new topic. Please provide more 'feedback' on this, if we are missing your point. "Blogs - no strong reasoning, just if I choose to visit a blog, it will be of my own choosing" - Absolutely agree! If you happen to come across any blogs that you think might be of interest to our members, we would gladly include them in our links. "Pictures - because they have not been updated for some time" - This is being fixed. We have already gathered all of the galleries into one spot on the web site, and are working on some pictures that we have received, but not posted yet. Couple of things to keep in mind regarding pictures - we would like to receive more pictures from our users, to share with the referee community. These could include - referees in action in games or training, meetings, socials etc. The other consideration is that because we are on the web, and anyone can view our site, we have to ensure that the pictures are appropriate, and that nobody in the pictures objects to the publication. "Seldom visit resources, but it is very helpful when I need something" - Excellent! Let us know if there is something that you would like added. "Meetings - until recently, it wasn't updated for years!" - Believe it or not, when we had minutes on the meetings page, those were the last minutes that we had received! For this reason, the meetings page now shows an up to date schedule of meetings for the year. The minutes will be presented in a different fashion, in future. "Indoor rules - until recently it still had 2006/2007 rules. In fact, why are these old rules still listed on the resources page?" - Sometimes these things get overlooked! Thanks for letting us know! |

| "Referees
special assignments from ASA/CSA and highlight of their games"
- Good suggestion, we will do our best. "Appointments" - Same as above... "Myths of the Game" - Is still available, last time we looked! We have a fairly extensive series of myths covered, but if you can think of any more, please suggest them using the Feedback Form. "Weekly Tips" - Will be back for outdoor, and then will continue into the next indoor season. We are always open to 'tips' submitted by others, so feel free to use the Feedback Form for this. "Updated photo galleries - unfortunately we missed the opportunity to post photos from tournaments such as the Rocky Mountain Cup, Western Canada Summer Games, Soccerfest, and the U16 Club Nationals" - Please refer to the comments above, but keep in mind that we can only publish what we receive, which was next to nothing for these competitions. If you have any that you would like to share, they would be more than welcome. "I am glad the mentoring goal site is back up" - So are we, but we would like to receive some updated suggestions! "HTML file for misconduct reports" - The format of the misconduct report has changed several times since an HTML version was available, and the number of downloads of the HTML form did not justify reworking it. |

| Resource Suggestions "Time penalty management examples with supporting documents, so there is no question as to how to fill out the "suggested' form" - We can certainly provided some examples, but at the end of the day, each official usually modifies how they use the sheet to best suit their own needs when managing penalties. As long as whatever you do works for you! "Videos - could these be converted to DVD's, and then make the DVD's available to members at a nominal fee - just like the Robert Evans DVD was available for $5?. I should think that by changing from a rent to a purchase model, more use of these resources could be made. How many of these videos take place now per year?" - If you are referring to the videos listed on the resources page, these are in fact copyrighted by the producer, John Nielson, a CSA National Instructor from BC. We don't imagine that he would authorize copying of these videos, for selling at a nominal fee. Robert Evans gave us specific permission to make copies of his disc, and the nominal fee was to cover our costs. The last video released by John Nielson was probably over 4 years ago. "Promo video clip for EDSRA, e.g. refresher courses, AGM, socials, meetings" - Great idea! "Gamesheets" - We have an Indoor record sheet, and an Outdoor record sheet. If you are looking for something else, please use the Feedback Form to let us know what it is. |

| Other Suggestions "Contests" - When we had contests, we received a low number of entries, so they were discontinued. We can certainly try again - if you have any suggestions, please use the Feedback Form. "Any of the presentations from the refreshers" - Good idea! "Consistent archiving of minutes" - See comment up towards top of page. "Training resources real to the 'everyday' ref, not the elite" - OK, you will need to use the Feedback Form for this! If you are referring to the training material that we received from England, it is very easy to modify any of the drills to suit the level of training that you require. If you are referring to anything else on the site, please use the Feedback Form to clarify. "Provide online test examinations to help referees for upgrading. For example: (http://www.drcdurham.ca/simulation_of_a_class_1_exam.htm) It would be a great help to have the questions of recent Class 2 and Class 1 examinations online, together with the answers. This would help in preparing for the exams, and would give a clear indication of what is expected as part of the promotion to the next level. Providing these questions does not take away from future exams. The point is, we should do what we can to help referees with a comprehensive understanding of the Laws of the Game." The current exams are multiple choice, and are very similar to the 'FIFA Question and Answer' that has been included in the Laws for the past few years. The exam that you have found on the Durham site is out of date now, both in style and content, so does not really help much in that regard. Rather than try and reproduce exam questions here, with the danger of giving away the answers (since they don't necessarily produce a new exam each year), we suggest that candidates study the Q&A in the FIFA LOTG. The 'study groups' that we introduced on our Discussion Forum in 2003 were a great tool in showing candidates the style of questions that they would be asked, and letting them practice the answering technique. Once the exam format changed, these study groups did not serve much of a purpose. Our Discussion Forum is always open for questions regarding the Laws, and notwithstanding some of the other discussions that take place, is probably the best resource for helping referees understand the Laws. "I know I have lots to chat about, and I know there are other referees that have things to talk about too. How do we get ourselves out of the closet?" - We are not exactly sure where you were heading with this suggestion, but the Discussion Forum or coming to a meeting or two might be the place to start. "Listing of EDSRA videos and DVDS that members can borrow " - See the Resources page. Thank you for all the great comments and suggestions, looks like we are going to be busy for a while! If you have anything to add or suggest, please use the Feedback Form. |
