Over the years, the EDSRA web site
has featured many events that were either organized and sponsored
by EDSRA, or involved EDSRA members. Pictures and articles were published
at various times, and
they have now been gathered in a central location to make them easier to
browse.
This was our very first feature on the web
site. It includes many pictures and mini-stories
from the competition, held at the Edmonton Soccer Complex (at the time known
as Henry
Singer), in October 2001.
An Evening with Héctor Vergara
Our 2003 AGM was a monster event. Canada's
representative at the 2002 World Cup,
FIFA AR Héctor
Vergara gave a very memorable presentation to approximately 60
officials
and soccer enthusiasts at the Royal Glenora Club.
EDSRA was proud to be involved in a visit by
English Premiership referee, Jeff Winter.
The visit was sponsored jointly by EDSA and EMSA, with EDSRA sponsoring
the social event.
Many EDSRA members took the opportunity to spend as much time as possible
with Jeff,
as he visited Edmonton with his family for a week.
U 15 / U17 Girls All Stars - July 2003
The same week that Jeff Winter visited, CSA
Girls All Stars were in Edmonton. There was
some great soccer, and a chance to meet many up and coming officials from
across
Canada. In fact, five officials from this competition made it to the FIFA
list in the years
following the event -
Carol Ann Chenard, Philippe Briere, Charlene Douglas,
Michelle Pye and Darci Kruse
Char's Montreal Travel Diary - 2004
Charlene Douglas provided us with a day by
day diary of her first competition as a FIFA AR.
We were given a glimpse of what it is like to officiate at the highest level
- the travel, training,
post game feedback - and of course the match appointments themselves.
More great soccer, more great
camaraderie between officials.

This time we were off to Thailand with Charlene
for the Women's U19 World Cup.

World Masters' Games - July 2005
Many EDSRA officials took part
in this event, which gave a unique opportunity to meet teams
and officials from many different parts of the world. EDSRA hosted a social
event, giving the
officials a chance to relax, unwind and share some great experiences.
2011 AGM
Héctor Vergara made his second appearance as a guest speaker at our AGM, and with
a record number of World Cup Matches under his belt, provided another memorable evening.
